About William R. Schauer

Bill Schauer is currently the Executive Director of MARS.

Professionally, Bill retired from a 40+ year career in railroad marketing, reaching the position of Vice President of Marketing for the Wisconsin Central Ltd, a Midwestern regional railroad, now part of the Canadian National.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from DePaul University Chicago.

He has been associated with MARS for approximately 25 years. Bill is past president of both MARS and NARS and has been elected NARS Person of the Year twice and, in 2018, was awarded the NARS Life Time Achievement Award .

Personally, he resides in Wayne, IL with his wife of over fifty years, Kathy and family of four children and five grandchildren nearby. He enjoys family, friends and playing with sports cars. His wife says he hasn’t changed a bit.
