About Bryan F. Vaughan

Bryan Vaughan is a commercial leader with more than 30 years of experience driving growth, customer partnerships, and market strategy across the North American rail and logistics industry. At Modern Rail Capital, he leads a Sales, Marketing, and Business Development team, helping customers optimize their railcar leasing strategies through data driven insights and a service first approach.

Bryan began his career in rail sales and marketing with Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railway and Canadian National/Illinois Central Railroad, gaining deep operational and commercial expertise over 15 years. He advanced into senior leadership as International Director of Sales and Marketing, managing teams across the U.S. and Canada. He later spent a decade as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at GE Capital Rail Services (GERS) before serving as Chief Commercial Officer at VTG Rail in the Chicago metro area.

A recognized industry contributor, Bryan serves on the executive board of the Midwest Association of Rail Shippers (MARS), where he has chaired the sponsorship committee and fulfills Sergeant at Arms responsibilities for major events. He has also been elected to the National Grain Car Council (NGCC). Bryan is a past president of the Traffic Club of Chicago and has served as Master of Ceremonies for its Annual Dinner.

He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University.

Bryan lives in the Chicago area with his wife, Dr. Susan Vaughan, and their two children. He enjoys music, travel, sports, reading, and spending time on Lake Michigan and the beaches of Northwest Indiana.
