Bill Schauer Industry Impact Award

The Midwest Association of Rail Shippers announced the establishment of the Midwest Association of Rail Shippers’ Bill Schauer Industry Impact Award.

This award will honor exceptional individuals or teams whose work has significantly influenced and improved transportation across the Midwest. MARS will give one award annually at MARS Winter Meeting beginning in January 2026.

The Midwest Association of Rail Shippers (MARS) Bill Schauer Industry Impact Award is intended to recognize and celebrate transformative contributions to the rail, transportation, and logistics industry. Named in honor of Bill Schauer, longtime member and esteemed former Executive Director of MARS whose career exemplified service, leadership and impact, the award will shine a spotlight on those who have driven progress, shaped best practices, and served as catalysts for meaningful industry advancement.
With this award, MARS will annually honor an individual, organization or team whose efforts have significantly advanced transportation across the Midwest.

This award recognizes:

• Impactful Implementation – Tangible actions or programs that have led to measurable results.
• Forward-Looking Leadership – Advocacy, mentorship and innovation that build long-term value for the rail industry.
